How does your garden grow?
Holy cow, my garden is an official jungle. Behold my first vegetable garden. It all started with two boxes of dirt that I asked my husband to make me for Mother's day. My 3 year old and I had a great time planting and watering it daily. I swear things were just moving along slowly and all of a sudden we got a heat wave and this is what happened literally in like 3 days! That is only one zucchini plant if you can believe that! My neighbors probably think I'm a freak... everyday I go out there and freak out and yell to my husband "Come check it out! I grew spinach! look at the peppers! Look at the 3 new tomatoes over here! Check out the size of this zucchini!" I can't believe I've not done this before... I'm kind of embarrassed actually. If you don't have a garden this year, do it next year... It's really fun and supper rewarding.
Charm Cake
Check out this cute charm cake I made this weekend for a bridal shower... It's a super cute idea from Martha herself. It's a vanilla bundt cake with fresh strawberries baked inside and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar. I got some cute little charms at a craft store and tied them to pink ribbons. The charms go inside the middle of the cake and the ribbons fall down around the outside of the cake. I made pink whipped cream and topped it with fresh Oregon strawberries... organic of course. Each person chose a ribbon and got to share their charm message. It would have been fun to use the charms as martini glass charms... name tags if you will. Too bad we started drinking way before we cut the cake!

Trouser Talk
I've modified my trouser designs to allow for more room in the rear... Our family has made a decision to use the earth friendly g diapers for our new baby girl. Although the g diaper is pretty low profile, they did make me realize that ooooooops... I was not thinking of other diaper options in past designs. New trouser designs like the short stuff trouser have added diaper room in the bum bum for just that reason. Check out the g diaper website for more information on these wonderful diapers. They just couldn't be more adorable.

New Fabrics!
So my fabric order has arrived! I'm very excited to get it washed, ironed and ready for sewing. Some new items I plan to include in the line will be fabric belts for kiddos and mamas and coordinating sashes to wear with the linen twirly skirts and short stuff trousers.First things first... I always make a deal with myself when new fabrics arrive; before I can cut into them I have to first complete all unfinished projects in the studio. Once it's all finished I clean and organize all my remnants... gotta stay on task!
